This astronomical nebula spans 100 light years across, while only being around 5000 light years distant from Earth. This nebula can actually be seen without a telescope! However you need to know where the constellation Sagittarius is, and you should be outside of the city if you want to experience the full affect which is without the lights from the city affecting your view from the cosmos.  The lagoon Nebula is also where millions of stars have formed, and are still forming. We have actually learned about the lagoon nebula in our Astronomy class, where we have to memorize the special M# according to the constellation. Having a greater view on what this M number is helps put things into perspective so i can view other astronomical wonders and have better knowledge on what it is.

Apod 2.5

Here we have a beautiful picturesque panoramic landscape picture taken by Rafael Defavari. This picture was taken in San Pedre, Chile (Valle de la Luna in the Chilean Atacama desert). If you look out into the horizon you can see the lights of San Pedre. This picture features actually, four galaxies. Toward the left there are satellite galaxies. ( known for their large clouds ). To the right of the milky way galaxy is the Andromeda galaxy. Now the last galaxy, excluding the milky way of course, is the andromeda galaxy which  lies 2.5 million light years away. 

Observation Blog 2.4

Throughtout this whole week (November 17th) I noticed this, along with all my other observation, in the early evening at around 6:03 am Mars was steadily moving eastward, along the ecliptic.

On the 18th I noticed the planet Saturn was in conjuction with the sun at approx 8:37pm, i searched it up later and noticed that in early December it would come rise in the early morning

On the 19th i noticed the moon's phase, which was a waning crescent, and realized that is was shifted north west of a very bright star. ( turned out to be Spica )

 To wrap up my observations, on November 22th i looked up at the night sky to see the beautiful full moon

The Tadpole Nebula APOD 1.4

About 12,000 light years away in the northern constellation of Augira, is the creation of a nebula. This picture in real perspective is over 100 light years across, giving us a view of the big picture. The cloud of glowing gas you can see in the center of this picture was created by stellar winds, which is particles radiated by planets. Which formed  these bright star clusters around 4 million years ago. Which created these tad-pole like wisps in nebula, hence the name, and are around 10 light years long. Crazy? I know right.?

Apod 2.3

This is Orion, a constellation, in gas,dust,and stars which is 1,500 light years away!!!  As you can see, there is a cluster of many celestial objects.That ranges too nebulae, stars, star clusters, which are all embedded into a large patch of gaseous wisps. Of course, the three bright stars on the left are Orion's belt, which is also called the flame nebula This flame nebula is composed of exited hydrogen gas,  with patches of dark brown dust. Not only is there a flame nebula but also the Orion nebula , M42 ,giving off a crimson color with a variety of gasses. Not on of my most prominant apod's, but i found a liking to his beautiful blue and red nebula. ( noting Veteran's day )

Apod 2.2

This phenomenal picture was taken in Norway after the clouds had cleared. Not only did the sky's clear but this spectacular aurora appeared. This was taken in early march, and our sun was producing these amazing aurora's for us. This happened to be in the time its maximum surface activity in the 11-year magnetic cycle.  Which allowed us to be able to capture pictures like the one i have here. It may appear photo-shopped, however i can guarantee you this is legit. This is a classic picturesque of an aurora, not only that we have a man at the apex of the mountain giving it a complement to this picture.
